The rear carrier/internal gear thrust washer has some cracks that do not go all the way through the metal on the outside area of the bends on the four tabs.

It looks like the metal is stressed from the bend, I have not gone out to the garage to look, but I don't believe my rebuild has a replacement for this part.

I have stopped work on the rebuild, I guess I should be looking for a trans supply house for this part - right? The only reason I am asking is because I think I've read that the original part was plastic, so it does not seem to be a part under much stress and the metal one may still be stronger.

might need to find a supply house for other parts like selective washers anyway.

the thrusting of the planets quickly erodes the face of the washer.you may want to replace it with a roller rear carrier available thru us or others on the board.the roller set up reduces parasitic power loss and frictional drag over the poorly conceived factory part.
