I cant find out why my tps is staying at 1.00 all the time and wont change, i cant get the car to idle under 1600 rpm, and my 02's are at 700-800 at 1600 rpm and i cant get them down, maf is at 10 on the turbo link and the block learn was at 128 when i started it but drops to 107.

I need to get this thing running good so i can send it to the tranny shop to fix my new trans, this tps is killing me. What could do this and make the tps stay at 1.00 at idle and wot. started when i chaged the wires for the tm kit.


I give the car 4 hours then iam going to get some gas. Its soppose to go to the trans shop monday.:(
 
Probably a dumb question, but have you replaced the TPS? If so, check reference voltage, I believe it should be ~5v and check the ground. Reading 1v would cause all of the other problems you're experiencing so I wouldn't worry about them, they will probably go away when you get the TPS squared away. What TPS and what TB are you using? Don't know if you change it with the V2, but the 86-87 TPS swings the opposite way.

And about burning it, I know how you feel. When mine caught on fire I was tempted to walk away from it, go inside, and wait for a neighbor to call the fire department. That's why I only work on it for a couple minutes at a time now. No need to get burned out.
 
Ok i fixed the tps tec i think, i have .46 at idle and 4.55 wot and the idle looks great now. Here is the big problems now, if i push the tps arm down it makes a buzzzzz noise and trys to kill the car , i can feel this buzz in the injectors when i touch them. The t link reads 19.5 injector pw and sometimes 3.9 . Sound like a short or something.

#2 problem is any one good with a t link, i am running a 19* jl chip. The t link says that my spark adv is 37.8 at 1150 rpm with esc ct 7#, at 2800 rpm spark adv is 52.2 and esc ct 7# . This cant be right can it. the car runs like junk and has little power.

i do run the 87 tb and tps by the way, thanks cool84
 
one more thing my 02's jump around alot but stay pretty much in the 700-800 range.
 
ignore the o2 volts at anything but wot.they will bounce around and it doesn't mean anything.


how do you get turbo link to display injector pw and timing?:confused: i've been using it for about 2 years and have never seen either...


what are your o2's and degrees of knock @ wot?

if you push the tps down while running the injectors will do that its like an accelertor pump for when you gag the throttle
 
What about the spark adv at 52 from what the tlink says at 2800 rpm . It go's to the trans shop very soon and i want to make sure they wont blow it up when test driving it.
 
The spark advance sounds completely normal. Whatever the chip says is just for WOT. It gets pretty high at cruise because there's little load on the motor. The buzz is completely normal and mine does it too.
 
What else can i look for, i took it to the trans shop and droped it off today . Well it drove ok over there but then i get a call later in the day saying to come and get my car they wont work on because it runs like sh--. He said he could not keep it running.

so it back at my house now, some thing is not right here, What should i check on the scan tool, or could i have the vac lines hooked up wrong with the v2 kit.

I cant get the car running good with it not shifting and they wont work on it with it running bad , what next.
 
How does the injector pw sound at 3.9. I looking for any thing. Well iam going to check the gov in the trans since i cant get it to run right. If i find nothing iam pulling the trans and the stall and it will sit till i fill like working on it.:(

I have about 10 gal of cam2 , all i need is a light. :D
 
Maybe you have a vacuum leak. Have you rechecked the TPS since it's been home? Are you using a TPS TEC? They are wired different between the hotair and IC cars. My dad tried using his old hotair one after the IC conversion and it wouldn't work, it did some weird stuff. Whatever you do, anytime it goes to a shop either pull the wastegate rod completely off or turn to boost way down. I've happened to arrive just in time to see my car doing a nice burnout behind to different shops. What exactly do you mean by running bad?
 
I know what your talking about with the shops. My car is getting some bad know if i rev it high, my block learn is at 105 and i cant get it to change. When i start the car it blows a lot of smoke now like it is running real rich. The tps is set at .40-.42 with no tps tec. it seems that it will not spool good at all, very slow and if it go's to 10psi its lucky. I think i have the vac line wrong or some thing, if any one has a drawing of the v2 vac line set up or the real thing i will give money for it.

Iam going out right now and writing down how i have the vac lines set up for the v2 and i will try to post a picture or send them to every body on the board tell i find out how they are ran and if i have them right.

sent you all a email of what my vac lines look like on the car now with the v2 intake. I would have put them on here but i dont no how still.

let me know what you guys think. probley all back wards:D
 
Thanks for the email cool84, i tryed to send back but my email wont let me so i hope you get this.

I have the WG soleniod lines going to the vac block and the other side is going to a tee that runs to the Wg and the turbo port.

I was told to run a one way valve in the big port on the intake so some of the thing that need vac dont get any unwanted boost. I dont even know if i have the valve in the right way. I think i have it so nothing can blow back in the intake port that way.

The line that runs to the little port on the intake and go's to the fuel press reg , thats just where my boost gauge is tied in.

The TB on the V2 setup is pressurized under boost, isn't it? It doesn't seem right to feed pressure to a port that's supposed to have a little foam filter on it and vented to atmosphere. Probably not your problem but it could turn into a low boost situation once you start trying to tune it.
 
I dont have a clue with the vac lines and what is press and vac on the v2 kinda but not a lot. Do the vac lines like right in the drawing that i sent yea. Am i not supose to have a one way valve there and the vac line to one side of the wg soleniod and the other to the wg and turbo port. Does any one have the vac line papers for the v2 or did they not come with them. I need all the help i can get with these vac lines .

Any body , some body has to have the vac lines set up for a v2. Come on guys i really need some help here, i need to get this out of the way before i put the tran back.
