Last night while checking out the aignment of the oil passages on my timing cover to the ones on the block, I also took a look at the coolant passages. has anyone noticed a pretty major mis-match between the two? The holes in the block are much smaller than the passages in the timing cover. since I had the die grinder out already I opened them up a little and radiused the edges out close to the gasket line. Not sure if it make a difference but figured I'd ask anyway.

Its hard to argue the fact that the cars run cool with the cover like they are though. Cool catch though never noticed myself

There's a BIG difference between the two. You'll also notice that the gasket opening is a lot smaller than the timing covers water ports. When I port and gasketmatch my timing covers that's one of the last steps I do is to trim that gasket back.
