Timing cover...

Does anyone know how to tell if your timing cover is bad or should i just buy new since im rebuilding....
Building on a budget..

Look inside the gear pocket and see if it's torn up. Also inspect the area where the cam button spins and see if it's pointed.




I'd take a good used GM cover over a brand new Chinese any day of the week.

Hear to many horror stories to even think of putting a Chinese-made cover on any engine I am working on.

Even if it is a dry-sump.
