timing=knock?

i was going to up the time this weekend and im wonering if i up the time and it starts to knock do i add more alky or is the timing just getting to aggressive? thanks jerrad

You can add more alky and take away the fueling through the injectorsif you want. However, generally if the car has a good AFR and starts knocking you have the timing too aggressive. I generally like to just leave the timing slightly lower and turn the boost up. I have had more engine failures with lots of timing than with lots of boost. Drew
