Will higher timing in the lower rpm range help the turbo to spool faster? To the best of my memory ......several years back one of the vendors had a variable timing chip and used a 3 bar map sensor to sense boost. In lower rpm's and no boost, the timing would be higher and as boost/rpm's increased the timing would ramp down. The reason given for this was to aid in spool up. Is this correct or am I dreaming? ;)

More timing usually helps spool on an automatic car, you are correct. But keep the a/f not too rich either!
