My GN original wheels currently have P215 65R 15's on them.

Is this the best size? I've heard you can fit P225's on the wheels, but don't know if GNs have the clearance for them.

I'm sure you all have gone through tires already ('specially REAR tires, heh heh) and have experience dealing with this.

Thx for your time

I just put a set of 245/60/15's on Saturday, I just wanted something for cruising around town. I plan on replacing the rear springs sometime soon, mine are shot, but the 245 fit no problem. With new springs, which would bring it up to the orginal ride height, you should have no problems going up to a 275/60/15. I like the look of the 245's and run a 26" MT at the track.

Nope, still running the stockers. 200,000 miles and still going strong. Yup, I've gone through many sets myself. If you want the stock look, but a little more rubber, then you can step up to 235/60s. They are the same height as original, but a little wider. Look nice. If you want to go with some bigger rubber, then you can step up to 255/60s. They are a bit taller, but look real nice. I have heard of others going as high as 275 without any mods. It depends on the car though. Mine rubbed a little, but it may have been because my body mounts were shot. Some even go taller and wider, but I have not. On my stock wheels, I have never put anything on the front except the stock size, but have heard of some running 255/60s. One guy said it only rubbed when the wheel was turned all the way in either direction. I personally wouldn't go that wide on stock wheels for the front, but may step up to 235/60s. Happy tire shopping.

For the most part 235/60R15 are your best bet. There are not a lot of street tires made for 15s. Most companies do not make for 15s, they are moving into make for 16 and up. I wish I could find a 255/55R15 but they do not make it (other then BFG radials, which do not hook for SH_T). Therefore, I would go with the 235/60R15. Just to let you know, I have 275/50R15 on the back. They are nittos and have a very large tread patch. They fit with no changes. Hope this helped!!

I have Nitto 225 50 15's in front. Too small, I only have about 3" clearance under my IC scoop.

I have Nitto 275 50 15 Drag radials in back.

You can see the rear tires on my website.

I HAVE STOCK 215 65 15 ON THE STOCK FRONT RIM. IN THE BACK I USE 235 60 15 ON THE STOCK RIM I HAVE USED 275 50 15 ON THE STOCK RIM . I ALSO USE 12.5 X 28 X 15 ON AN 8.5 RIM IN THE REAR FOR RACING. THEY ALL FIT WITH NO CLEARANCE PROBLEMS.
