Great northern fall day, 50 degrees and partly sunny...

I uncovered and dusted off the GN...opened up the dump and cruised it over to see my body guy's new winter  project...

We think we have it bad with head gaskets & 80's GM quality issues? Try bringing this dinosaur back to life!

Jimmie Johnson's history-making 4th consecutive NASCAR championship will be the cap to this fine Sunday. :)

He must be a masochist. I restored several cars in my time, but never that far gone.

well at least the car has two important things already going for it....
1) its a 57
2)its a convertible

It would make an awesome Rat Rod ! ! Nice lines... def potential here.

He is that! He has resurrected some from the dead. :)

The king of the Tri-Fives and a Vert, I agree! He'd prefer a `56 hardtop but he couldn't pass on this one...it was almost free.

Sweet idea GNGAL! He hasn't decided on which way to go; street machine, custom, gasser clone or? but he does like those flat black Rats too! :D

Whatever he decides he's in for some sweat and pain but it should be fun when done!

Looks like a great project. Quite a few pieces missing, and the prices of reproduced parts for '57s are outragous, but I've seen worse brought back..I spent the summer between Junior and senior year of high school working on and chasing parts for what was supposed to have been my car:rolleyes:...

It's hard to tell from these pics but it is "fairly" complete less drivetrain, ragtop cloth, grille...Etc. Etc. Etc.
Yes, the prices for parts make our members and vendors look like clergy in comparison.

That is one beautiful Belair HT man! How did it pass you by?

It started turning out so nice, my father decided to keep it for himself:( He's had a couple of nomads, but so far, no convertibles.
