The trans only has 400 miles on it and it was built by a reputable person who is experienced with this trans. The car has not been raced. Just easy Sunday driving miles.

A noise started today when I was less than a mile from my house so I drove home and parked it.

When the car is in park or neutral there is no noise.

When I shift into drive there is a noise that is rpm related. The noise tone changes as the rpms change. The car drives fine and it doesn't seem like there is slippage. There is just noise.

What do you think?

Thanks.

add more fluid .
have you checked the fluid level after warmed up from driving around for about 15 minutes?

Check your Torque Converter bolts, may be loose. A cracked Flexplate can cause this also.
