torque converter identifying

is there a way to tell if your torque converter is stock or not while its in the car. color or size its a 1987 t-type limited

If its bare metal with no paint, says D5 its the stock convertor.

If the trans has been out most likely the conv has a D6 and the car wont spool very well.

My white limited in the sig went fast with a stock convertor, nothing wrong with them.

I should have specified, pull the dust cover off and look at the convertor... It will be stamped all the way around the convertor.

it has the letter 5 all the way around it.
