I have a Pats 10" 3200 stall converter that I bought from Full Throttle about 3years ago and now all of a sudden the converter locks up as soon as the trans shifts into 2nd gear, but it wont stay locked the car will idle in gear no problem,I pulled the plug for the tcc on the side of the trans and same problem ,do I have a bad converter? or a malfunctioning tcc solenoid, this only happens after the unit heats up after driving for an hour or so.Thanks for reading

i had the same kind of problem and the lu solenoid was bad, but im no trans expert good luck

Some of the causes of this that I have experienced are 1 a sticking lock up valve in the pump due to dirt, metal flakes or other debris. This valve is a bit of a pain to pull out if your not familiar with tranny work. 2 a bad lock up solenoid, the easiest to fix plus this lets u see how much junk is in your trans pan when you pull it, also the bleed hole in solenoid could be blocked. I am not a tranny guy so others can feel free to chime in here. I will say this, if you need trans work you need to make sure you get with a good turbo regal trans builder this relationship will be right up there with your doctor, lawyer etc...if you make a mistake here it will cost you dearly in dollars and your sanity.

That is some good advice..Thanks,,,,,I took the car for a long ride today and it was fine I think perhaps the valve is sticking inside the pump I will probably just replace the tcc solenoid and make sure the valve is free and see what happens..
