Does anyone know the thread size for the bolt i need in order to install my tourque strap?(the one that bolts onto the alternator) also, when i put my ported elbow on, is there a gasket i need, or does the new one just bolt up? alos anyone know the sizes of those bolts, i would like to replace them as well
TIA

Bring the strap back and buy a HRpartsNStuff poly engine mount. There is no gasket between the elbow and exhaust housing, there is however an exhaust 'donut' between the housing and stock downpipe. The bolts from the elbow to housing are 13mm drive, or 8mm thread. Absolutely put an anti-seize lube on these bolt threads prior to installation.

I would replace that eye-bolt with a good quality one from a hardware store. You can get them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.
Nothing wrong with using a strap.
My stock mounts are in great shape, but with sticky tire and a column shift car, it would bump into OD when foot braking the car for a launch.
I got a good quality strap, cut it to length and have been using it for well over a year for a $15 investment.

Personally, I vote against the torque strap and for the poly engine mounts (at least the D/S) made by HRPartsnStuff. I've seen bent eyebolts. I've read reports of the ears on the alternator case and the mounting bracket cracking. The straps are kind of ugly after a while when they get full of road grime. I wouldn't be surprised if the straps stretch (anybody have that experience?). And they're just another PITA thing in the way when you need to work on things in the engine bay.

Until you stretch the strap, bend the eyebolt and/or crack & even break off the ear on the alternator case. Been there done that back in the days before the poly mounts were available. IMHO Paul's motor mounts are one of the best pieces for these cars to come along in years!
