I don't disagree that Toyota is overrated in every respect. But CBS news isn't exactly an Unbiased and impartial source of information.

Remember the GM truck saddle tank "explosions"

Then again this is just reporting on a lawsuit with not their own "Investigation/special effects"

I wonder who the executives are/were? Seeing that I was always in the know about certain people from "T", I could probably guess the legal coverage side of it. It is interesting though, some sox and jsox attorneys may have been consulted and incorrectly informed their client that emails only had to be retained for 90 days instead of the mandated 5 years. I obviously can't comment further but, there is always a way to hide or even generate emails.

If there were e-mails EVER they can be found. I am told there is pretty much a complete backup of anything ever on the internet ava through NSAii

Internal email remains internal. The problem is when an internal group that defines the operating framework for a company, adjust things to best fit questionable activity. These policies and framework (SOX and JSOX call them controls) are enforced but, really provide nothing for investigators. If a policy (control) states that email is to be held for 24 hours and then deleted, IT follows policy and there is little trace of issues until somebody outside raises their hand. I will not go into personal observations for some of the things in question other than some companies have much better PR than others.

They just had a huge recall on a couple of vehicles.

Not much in the MSN on it either.

Way overrated, " I hate those overated pieces of s@#t!!!!!! "

Yep.
