How often do these things go out? I never have read of any ones going out. Well, at least I think mine's dead. Only thing that makes sense. At idle right after I started the car the TPS was reading .96. Car was sputtering/surging a little too. Though maybe something got stuck but everything looked fine under the hood. Finally limped it home, it actually wasn't too bad on the highway, but after I hit a few lights down the street from my house it threw a code 13 while stopped at a particularly long light. Mainly, IMO, because of how rich it was running from my TPS being so high at idle. It cleared after I started driving again

Wondering why I didn't throw a code for the TPS being so high? Everything else on the scanmaster was reading fine.

Ideas as to why no code for that? I will be replacing it tomorrow. Any better ones out there than others?

Well, I swapped TPS's and nothing. Seems that wasn't the probelm. On the scanmaster, O2s were pegged at 929 (no deviation from this number either)and BLMs at 90. Running ridiculously rich. Not throwing any codes. Will stall if left to idle for a few minutes. Swapped O2s and nothing either.
Anyone think the MAF went south? Seems fine on the scanmaster though

tps

funny you should bring it up my car did the same thing and yes it was the mass air can you get a reading at idle or w/o/t.

In my experience, 9 out of 10 times a bad maf sensor won't throw a code. try a known good one, and post the results. I think that'll do it. readjusting the tps would probably also be a good idea.

You want results...this must have been that 10th out of 10. Water in the ECM

There's the results. A tad bit of water got in where the the plugs connect to the ECM (not IN the ECM) and caused a whole lot of havoc. Dried out the plugs and cleaned out the pins and everything is dandy. We just had a ton of rain in a short period of time this weekend and for the FIRST time my car wasn't covered. Oh well, at least I don't have to replace the MAF...yet
