I checked the tps on my 87 tb today and i am only getting 1.4volt and the blue wire and a ground if its open or closed. I had it hooked up as the stock 85 wiring and then was told to change the end black and blue wires now this is all i get, did i kill my chip or ecm maybe . I cant even get my tps tec to light up at all.

an yone know what could be going on.:(

well, if a reverse sweep 87 TPS is like the tps off any FWD buick, when you plug it in to OUR cars, it works fine :) you dont actually have to change the wires, because hotairs are wired differently because the tps sweeps the other way. did it not work before you swapped the wires, or did you just do it before you tried it out?

btw the only reason i know this is because i have a TPS off an 86 skylark (or something like that) on my car, its reverse sweep and it works 100% fine. i grabbed a couple more too. screw paying out the butt for a "new" tps. junkyards do fine. now if only we could put the guts of those 2" MAF's in ours...

When i look at the 85 and 87 tps there not the same, one works backwards. With the v2 there is a wire or something that i dont have that flips the tps, i didnt know this. So i pluged mine in and it worked backwards . At idle the tps tec was saying it was wot and the wot was at idle. When i fliped the two out side now it has nothing just the 1.4 volts all the time.

Car is running real bad , i keep pulling codes the the tps volts are low and a code saying its to high.

Any one know what this could be . Why iam only getting 1.4 to 1.8 volts at the blue wire on the tps if its at idle or wot.

SOME BODY HELP:)
