God i think if you did any reading of the current leaders in the fields of hydraulics (engineers, not mechanics with camp stoves) you would realize they are. just because you cant see it, doesn't mean it isn't happening. everything has a different co efficient of compression. if ya really wanna know, go read. if you are trying to make yourself feel better cause i happen to know this and you don't, well, you are never too old to learn something new. you know what well really drive you nuts though? if you compress it with enough force, it will turn to a vapor. from the shear heat of the compression . theoretically that is.
