My trans is currently out of the car. I was wondering if a trans shop can actually tell you if everything is in order by looking at it? I know the converter is shot, but I want to make sure it did not damage anything else.

TIA

usually a damaged convertor will destroy the transmission or contaminate it causing a short life span.where are you located?what is in the pan?what happened to the convertor?

I'm from Chicago. When I pulled the pan there was some metal, not an obscene amount, but still enough to notice it. Whenever I started the car it would make a rattling noise coming from the converter. Occasionally I would go to acellerate and it would just buck (replaced TCC as well), definitly seemed like the converter. The tranny is a freddy brown rebuild from dynotech, still shifted strong at every point so I don't know what to do. Let me know what you think, thanks.
