Tranny or linkages?

When I use my 93 Dodge Dakota (stock magnum 3.9V6) every time I release the brakes from stopped, the vehicle seems to clunk while it goes forward. It's not smooth, like it should be. Any ideas?

pull driveshaft and lube the splines real good. Also ck to see if the brake shoes are rolling up the backing plates if it has drum brakes.
