Took my TTA to the track and ran a best of 13.30@99.6, thats the background. From day one (had the car almost 2 years) its made a whining noise that you can hear at startup and when driving at very low speeds, and slowing down. Could this be the pump or the torque converter. Reason I ask is because to me it seems my speed seems off for the et, seen other TTAs with exact same et but had 4 to 5 more mph. I think my torque converter isn't locking but how can you tell??

Force it to lock by putting a wire between the A and F connections on your ALDL port (top right and top left). That will lock it as soon as it hits second gear (if it's working). Put a switch on that wire and you can lock it at will--as long as you're in second gear or higher. Or, cruise at highway speeds, flat and level. Keep your foot on the gas and press down gently on the brake. This should disengage the TCC lock-up and your rpm will jump by about 200 to 300.
