hey all just wondering what the symptoms are of a tranny thats starting to slip, I ran my car in new jersey last weekend drove there from montreal then drove home. On my final 2 runs I noticed the car seemed to be hesitating /missing, almost like it was backfiring through the air filter. could it be the maf thats going?? I also have been getting some unusual knock, I had a 1/2 tank of 94 octane with 4 1/2 gallons of 116 plus alky and was getting knock at the top end of the track at first then all the way through. I noticed a puff of smoke looked like white when the car had the backfire through the intake. I checked the oil and all seemd fine. I also noticed a sound kinda like an exhaust leak coming from the driver side of the motor is it possible a head gasket is on it's way out?? I still have power and the idle is fine, but dont want to run again till I get these issued straightened out. I'm hoping it's a cracked header and not a head gasket... Any tips / advice apreciated.
