trans brake

i just had a trans brake put on my turbo 400, and the guy put the button right on the shifter. i was wondering if it was ok to hit it while driving or if i accendentaly hit it, would it hurt anything? sorry for the noob question.

DO NOT HIT IT WHEN Driving how i know is i hit the button thinking i could rev my engine at some girls doing about 50 mph it lock the trans up almost caused a accident, not good this was about 8 years ago 454 ls6 400 trans.
