Just have a bare case now and was thinking about using our dip tank. Don't know how what we have differs from "hot tank."
Our tank is used for preping aluminum for welding; it is full of an acid solution. Just dip the part in the acid, wait a few minutes, and dip it in the rinse tank full of water and let air dry.
ALSO,
I noticed what looks like a defect in the case. If you are looking in the empty case, about 2/3 the way in, about a foot long, at about the 2 oclock position. There is a large casting line on the outside of the trans matching this crack like defect.
Anybody ever noticed anything like this? I was thinking about polishing the area with some sand paper bucause it is not as smooth as the surrounding area. Maybe this is where the 2-3 flair problem came from.
Thanks,
