Does anyone run a aftermarket trans crossmember or most stick with the stock cushion mounted member? Just wondering if there is anything more rigid that the stocker and still fit correctly!

I've used Monte SS crossmembers in the past due to originals being rotted. They bolt directly to the frame without cushions only difference is the trans mount, it doesnt use the offset mount like the V6 cars do.

So is losing the cushions a good or bad thing? I know it might strengthen things up but what's the down side more vib's?

It adds some more rigidity , and as for vibration Monte SS's and Hurst Olds / 442's didnt use cushions. My 87 442 has no cushions and I never noticed any unusual or offensive vibrations. In my opinion any time you can make the car more solid is a good thing espesially the more power you make or if you have T-tops.

You could always try poly cross member bushings. Assuming nothing it wrong with your original cross member.

I don't have a crossmember at this point which is why I'm wondering which route to go! I don't think the Gforce ones fit the TR's very well more made for v8 dual cars or I would use one of those heavy things.
