trans flaring 2-3 shift

Under part throttle 1-2 shift firm,2-3 shift flares ,3-4 firm again.Under full throttle 1-2 hard, 2-3 shift feels like it hesitates to shift then firm shift. 3-4 shifts hard. Any thoughts or suggestion. Thanks

Based on this description it sounds like you have damage to the direct clutches.Install a pressure gage and note the drop on a 2/3 shift.If the pressure doesnt drop the clutches need to be replaced as well as to track down the problem.

chris could this be that the direct drum has a bore ring groove at the bottom or center support issues?
