trans goes boom

well got enerything tuned and trans didnt like it.at 55mph trans made a sound and i have no gears,had no issues before.pulling apart tomorrow and wondering what to look for.

Kevin this is Ron have not heard from you in a while. Hope you did not hurt it to bad. How is it running now? No gears at all can not be good. Transmission is out of mine also. Should have one in by the first of next week. Keep us posted on what you find.

I can think of three possibilities:

1. broken intermediate shaft
2. torque converter
3. broken pump rotor

I think Lonnie is probably correct.

You could pull a cooler line and see if you have flow but the fwd shaft often snaps on a hard 2-3 shift.

I don't know what all you have in the tranny already but a broken intermediate shaft or input shaft is my main guess

pulled trans,its not the imput shaft,stopped there,how much deeper do i need to go? turned the tail shaft and it turned the front with the imput shaft out.

look in the pump with the convertor out and see if its looks intact,it should have 2 evenly spaced teeth opposite each other.
if you don't know how to pull the trans apart and put it back together dont start digging any deeper.

Turned the front what? Did you check in the O.D. shell to see if there was a piece of the forward drum shaft stuck in it?

i've rebuilt a 2 200's before,not a pro for sure,dont know what most of the parts are called,lol,it turned the piece thats after i pulled the front pump and clutches.thanks

found it,the drum shaft,snapped the end off,next question does anyone have a pic of where the check balls go with a trans brake? all the balls stayed in the case but 1 and dont know where it was.total of 8 balls.thanks
