i have a lockup switch but i can't tell if it works or not. it shifts just fine under part throttle and if you roll into the throttle going to WOT. if i am driving around and mash the gas, the engine revs but nothing happens. on occasion the tranny will catch and it will take off like a bat outta hell, but usually the motor just revs and nothing happens. what is this and how do i fix it. the fluid looks good but i am going to service the trans anyway. i don't know if it's just slipping or if i have another problem. any ideas?

if you cycle the shifter between 3rd and 4th at 50 mphour does it backshift and upshift?

yes it does....a little slower than i would like but i wouldn't expect anything more out of a stock tranny with 67k on it and more than likely some track time.

at 60 mph toggle the switch in fourth and you should note a 200 or more rpm difference on the tach.if not no lockup

lockup switch doesn't work....i have a feeling it's the TC going bad. trans shifts way too good to be slipping. the car chirps first gear all the time. would a bad TC give that symptom of revving and not transferring the power?

what rpm is the engine turning in od at 60 mphour?

about 2000 give or take...the tach is a cheap pos.
