Trans ID Help

Can anyone id this trans? Supposed to be a 200R4 from an 86 Monte Carlo SS. I'm buying it from someone who isnt local so I cant view the tag myself. According to the owner, the tag reads
CPF 052-881CPF

I cant find reference to CPF anywhere. Thought he might have misread a CRF code, but he insists its a P. Anyone know what this trans is?

the code is or should be CRF indicating an 1988 monte carlo ss with a 305 engine ,but not the h/o 305 .this is not the same as a czf or cq but it is calibrated nice for this application which uses mostly a 3.08 final drive ratio.it should give wide open throttle upshifts at about 4600 rpms with the tv set on the loose side of the spectrum.the czf and cq codes are for a 305 w/hi output engine and will shift around 5100 rpms at wide open throttle .if you want a gnational or h/o monte carlo ss valve body ,contact us ...........www.ckperformance.com
