Plate hands dwon. I ran into this question a few weeks back and conducted an exhaustive search. Ended up with (what is called) a "stacked plate type" cooler.

Excellent! I havent added any yet, but spring is supossed to be on the way. I just did not want to cheap-out at this point. Now who has the best deals!!
Thanks
Mart

Got mine at Pep Boys, an automotive chain/parts store.
Autozone and O'Reily did not carry this type of cooler.

Edit;
New tranny?

Maybe the last question???? Is any brand better than the other?
You running a new transmission?

Not sure if you will ever tell any difference between brands.
I got the Hayden unit.

I've proven you can run them over and they still work fine. Don't ask how I know that.

Like they said, stacked plate hands down. Bruce sells a huge cooler for a decent price. I've got one for transmission and engine oil. Summit sells a nice kit with a big stacked plate cooler with fan and built in thermostat pretty cheap. It's nice when you run out of room up front.

Yes the trans is completly rebuilt all CK parts and mods, billit when I could afford them. It even works!! This was the first time I ever opened up a trans. It took me awhile but I had it together so many times before I got it perfect.
With the new engine and trans, I sure do not want to take ANY chances.
I think I put about 3 miles on it so far, I'm even thinking about pulling the cam and putting in a roller. I was / am so worried about wiping the cam after reading many horror stories!
