Ok so I just put close to 15k in my motor and engine bay (see sig) and thats painful. Well the guy who had this car before me screwed alot of stuff up on it and I am just beggining to unearth everything (motor was first,
excessive knock due to camshaft installed wrong and screwing lifters and pushrods up). I had my machine shop long block the motor and than I assembled the rest installed and they started it. Well when they started it they found a bunch of issues with the trans while driving it. The linkage that goes to the throttle body (forget what he called it) was WAY over tightened so the tranny shifted hard and not knowing much about trannys I just thought it had a kit in it. Well after he adjusted it back to stock specs now the tranny slips BAD from 2nd-3rd  . He was saying that when this linkage is too tight, like mine was, that the fluid in the tranny cant flow well and it causes things to wear excessivly very fast. So now I have a problem with my tranny and need it rebuilt or replaced. Estimate for a good rebuild is about 2k and as you can image that is rough for me seeing how much I just put in the car. So here is my question. Is there a good reputible company that will buy my core and send me a rebuilt for cheaper than that estimate? maybe 1k after core? Any suggestions will help at this point cause I am at a loss:confused: . I really wanna give my new motor hell but cant as the tranny is so bad. Help please!! :frown:
Thanks
Andrew

if you have your core get with Brian Hofer as far as I can tell he's the one to rebuild the 200.

So it shifted good but firm before it was adjusted and now it slips. Maybe it is now adjusted wrong???

Pull the pan and see if the filter unseated itself. Is the TV cable adjusted properly?

Is this WOT shifts or regular driving around?

+500 for Hofer Transmissions. Mine's still going strong!

Before it would shift HARD like hard enough to chirp the tires into 2nd with not alot of throttle at all and third was ok but slipped a little. Well the mechanic drove it and said that was too much for the tranny than he found that cable way overtightened. So he put it back to were it should be than told me I could switch it back tighten it a bit if i wanted to but it would just lessen the life of the tranny by alot. I just put a new filter in the tranny and new oil and that was a bit back and when I pushed the filter in I felt it catch on that o ring so I doubt it slipped out.
