Trans service ???

How many quarts should I start off with I just did a filter and gasket service and i don't want to overfill my trans

Thanks, I know it's a dumb question but I can't fire the car up until my fuel pump arrives so I just wanted to fill the pan back up thanks alot

I tried that an put the first gallon in. We didn't have the drive shaft in and my son was under tightening up crossmember fasteners. As I was dumping in the second gallon he started screaming stop pouring as it was coming out the open tail right on him. He didn't think it was near as funny as me. Once we got the drive shaft in I topped it to the full mark and added an extra quart to prevent the pickup from becoming uncovered.

Yep, just another of the "lessons" on why I steered him into HVAC work, instead of working on cars for a living.
And remember a quart over full help keep the pump from cavitating from the filter pickup becoming uncovered.
