Hey Guys,

I 'm puttin in a trans temp gauge this weekend. I know it should go in the pan, but is there anything wrong with putting it in a "T" in the tranny line that runs to the cooler?( The HOT line) It should be just as accurate and would save me from taking down the pan...again. I should have done it when I put the drain plug in. If anyone else has done this, let me know. If not, then it is going in the pan.

Thanks

I prefer the pan

The line coming out of trans is from the convertor which will be HOT. Th fluid then goes through the cooler and back into the trans and lubes the bushings all down through the trans and drops back into pan. IMO, what is in the pan is what the pump is pumping through the VB and convertor. Builders correct me if I'm wrong. @ least you got a drain in the pan. BTW, you going to BG?

I put my temp gauge on the return line to the tranny, I installed a T, this shows me what temp fluid the tranny is seeing, Like Lee said, other wise the output line will show much hotter temps....

I'm sure others will chime in and say do it the other way...
