Trans Trouble.

I have about 500 miles on my rebuilt trans. On the way home from work I left the parking lot and the car would'nt shift out of 1st gear. Any stupid things I should check other then fluid level?

I think if the governor sticks that could cause it, not sure what else...anyone??
Recommend that you post this in the Transmission section, you'll get some help there.

I've had enough tranny problems to last a lifetime in the past 6 weeks..and all the advice I got pointed toward dropping the pan and looking for the governor spring..In my case my trans wouldn't shift out of 2nd and the converter would lock up when I stopped..we changed the TCC solenoid and I'm being told that it now shifts into 3rd and 4th but the shift points are alittle weary..(I just got back from vacation and my friend worked on it while I was away.)
