I'm thinking about changing over to the translator with a LT1 MAF just wanted to get some tips on doing this and is this a upgrade that is not needed yet for what I have on my car??? I went to the track tonight and hit my best time of 12.19@114MPH 60ft of 1.83 with the upgrades in my SIG

IMO, I would only get the translator if you're having issues with your stock maf. I've gone 11.16 with the stock maf and a TE63-1 turbo, and I'm sure there's more left.

If you happen to hit the perfect combination with the stock MAF, and some chip then, T+ won't help you. IF you want the ability to actually tune, then the T+ is the way to go. Not to mention that when the stocker fails, you'll just be mostly likely SOL, and have to get a T, or T+ anyway. You can do the T+, and run your chip, or go to an Extender, later if you want. An Extender gives you the extended range of the later MAF, and a few other features.

Thanks for the insight on this... I also chasing down a high BLM # and I change MAF with two on loan to me right now and with the newer of the two I have BLM that drop way down to like 110 and then with the older of the two it jumps back up to around 150 at Idel I have gone threw and replaced lines, valves, gasgets lol was hoping that going to a translator might help with that issue plus help with performance.

From the sound of things, I wouldn't trust either sensor that you have.

No chip, or any other tuning devise will make up for a mechanical problem. They might allow you to min the symtoms of a problem, but you need to make sure the engine is sound.

Making sure an engine is sound, means a leak down test/ compression test, new tune up parts, and then scanning it to see where you are. If you were at 128s then it's a matter of finding out what's changed. If it was never *baselined*, tuned and checked to be right, then you might have to do some chasing around to get back to ground zero, and having a sound engine.

While not the cheapest way to go, but since you're at the corner of walk and don't walk, getting a T+, new mathcing MAF, and Extender chip, will at least get something for sure to start with. Then you can work from there.

never had a stock maf on my car from the time i bought it in 1999. But from what i hear the T+ and a extender chip is the shiznit for a buick.

i have a new set-up on mine now a 3.5 ls1 and a new version of the translator( instead of the version 1.1 translator) with a extender extreme and man the car is just so easy to tune. heance fuel control to 700+ grams of air :)

i have tuned a car with a stock maf and that takes alot of time in chip burning to get it rite and heaven forbid you turn up the boost and mess with the FP then that tune has went bye=bye with a stock maf

with the extender and extender extreme chips you can simply turn up the boost and it will compensate for the added airflow and add the fuel for ya:)

THANK YOU BOB FOR MAKING A WONDERFUL ITEM FOR THE BUICKS GIMME A HELL YEAH :)

when funds are up to snuff i'm going TRANS PRO :)
