Trans won't go in PARK

I put in a B&M shift kit and everything works fine except for when I put my car in park, it acts like its in neutral. I took apart the long rod in the transmission that ran from the gear selector to the back of the transmission. Not remembering how it came out I put it back in to the best of my ability. If somebody could give me a hint on how I should re-install it that would be great. Thanks

did you adjust the cable as per the B&M instructions? move selector on trans to PARK... does the car roll then? sounds like miss adjustment...

Yeah I adjusted the cable hoping that that was the problem. Everything seems normal shifting the trans except when in park the car roles. I removed some kind of long rod with a spring on it from its the trans. When I put it back there was this black piece of plastic or something that moved back in forth (horizontal) that interacted with this rod. When I put it back I must have not put it back properly.
