I know about Janis Trans in Akron but that's about 3 hours away. Can anyone refer me to someone reasonably close (~60-90 miles)to Lima Ohio to do a converter changeout and refresh/upgrade my transmission?

Make the drive!

I would HIGHLY recommend Janis Transmissions, and say MAKE THE DRIVE! I think you are closer to them than you think too. It's worth a 4 hr drive easily, verses paying and doing it twice and/or all the extra down-time. He will probably be at the Nat's next week, but you will be VERY happy with his work!

I have no doubt about Vince's work - my son (ViciousV6) took his GN there a couple of years ago and Vince did an outstanding job.
I was hoping there was someone a little closer who was as good but apparently there isn't.

It does take us almost three hours to get there - my wife is from Akron so we've made the trip a lot of times. ;)

So, Janis it will be. :D

If you go to the Nats talk with Vince. I know he was planning to be there. Vince Janis came so highly recommended that I had mine shipped to him from here in SC. Haven't had time to put the tranny in yet but he was very good to work with and I believe will stand behind his work.
