Transmission choices

This is my first post, but I have been reading this board for a while now...lots of great info and good posts!

Anyway, I have an 87 GN. Tranny is shot, so I am planning on replacing it this weekend or next. I don't have much cash right now to play with, and I am not sure I am ready to try rebuildiing it myself.
I found a couple places online, Phoenix sells 2004R's, and Netgearhead does rebuilds and performance 2004R's. Anyone have any experience with these guys? Anyone know where I can get a good deal on a 2004R rebuild?

Trust me on this one....If you don't have alot/enough money then wait. I had the same problem, so I got a professionally rebulit 200r4 for $900, in fact I had it done 3 times in one year! Screw the warranty with the cheaper places, towing your car in weekly is not worth the savings. I've been there.

I've had zero problems. Except, that I now have to hold on tight every time it shifts, oh, maybe that's not a problem......
