Transmission line question

Reinstalling my transmission lines tonight, and I've been looking to see which line is which; and can't seem to find it.

I have seen that on the radiator, top goes in, bottom goes back to the transmission. But on the transmission, which line goes is the outgoing and which is incoming?

I know in general, they will only fit one way; but they are a little bent out of shape, so I just want to make sure the right one is going to the right spot.

Top to top, this is the feed line to the trans cooler.
Bottom to bottom, return from the cooler.

the top line (feed) of trans goes to the bottom line of radiator. The top line from the radiator will go back to the trans or to the bottom line of an aux cooler.

I've always wondered the same thing. I can see on initial instalation coming in the bottom to get rid of air. Once system is in operation, I don't see it making any difference.

Because of the thermal dynamics of the fluid. You get more cooling action by bottom entry top discharge. that's been proven time and time again, And if Dave agrees that's good enough for me

Top is pressure bottom is return. Always go from top of trans to top rad then from bottom of rad to aux cooler and then to return (bottom) of trans. If you run through aux cooler first then rad you are reheating fluid bck to trans

The top line (feed) of trans goes to the bottom line of radiator always. The top line from the radiator always will go back to the trans or to the bottom line of an aux cooler. The top line of the aux cooler goes back to the trans (return).

This is the correct orientation of the cooler circuit for the 200-4R transmission.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I had this same question when I started to read all the different ideas on this posted on this site. Interesting all the different thoughts on this.

Let's see who to believe and why?

I went to haydenauto.com and looked up their PDF. Transmission Cooler Instruction sheet. It took some twisting around to view it in English.

The factory installed them top to bottom and bottom to top. I think this is what you are asking( how did the factory install these lines? )
