transmission not downshifting

Hi guys i need some insight to what my trans could be doing i have a 200 4r with a lockup converter. when i drive from a stop the trans shifts smooth an normal but when i get in to 3rd and fourth then take my foot off the pedal its fine untill i touch the gas pedal again and it feels like it is trying to drive in to high of a gear like it is hanging in 4th or third when it should be shifting down any advice would be helpful i haven't had this prob before so it is tough for me to remedy ...thanks

Try unplugging the tcc plug on side of tranny and going for a ride sounds like your converter is locking up and staying locked. May need a new solonoid

i unplugged it and it did the same thing is there anyway to test the tcc solenoid?

i ordered another one its not very much to pay for healthy shifting

Thanks for the input i went ahead and replaced the tcc solenoid and while i was in there i noticed my 4th gear pressure switch had loosened up considerably ......could that have been a main contributing factor in the trans not downshifting right after reaching 40 something mph ..either way it is so nice to feel the trans not make any unexpected jolts bogs or shudders. oh...Yeahhhhh!!!
