transmission question?

Hi, I have a stock 87 200r4 gn trans...I dont' have any major upgrades on the car besides 009 injectors/hooker dual exhaust/walbro 340 fuel pump/hotwire kit/TT chip/stock turbo and downpipe/ajustable fuel pressure regulator/rjc BC/maf pipe with k&n cone air filter/rear seat brace kit/body bushings.The matainance on the car is very good like fuel filter/oil/spark plug/wires etc. My question is at WOT (wide open throttle)it won't shift out of 1st or any other gear i think, it would just over rev the rpm's. Unless u led off on the pedal then it will shift smoothly every gear, and drives fine. It's only at WOT, I can't afford a rebuilt right now, Anybody know why it's doing this?And what might have to be replaced to fix this?

Is this a new problem or did you get the car that way?

It sounds like the governor spring popped off and is probably laying in the trans pan.

There are many threads that pertain to your question, if you do a search you'll probably find that someone already experianced this and the solution will be there for you to see.

No this is not a new problem, I have the car for about 5 years now, It did this when I bought it..It was bone stock at the time before these small upgrades that I added above.thx for replying

Sounds more like a problem with the TV/Throttle Valve in Valvebody, binding/sticking or TV Cable adjustment.
