I'm going to rebuild the trans in my 86 grand national, and was wondering what you guys recommend as to what rebuild kit (or new trans for a fair price) and what type of converter that will support 500hp/ 600ft pounds of torque. The car will have a stock turbo for awhile with some supporting mods such as ported heads, slightly larger cam (206 206) and 60lb injectors, turbo tweak chip, upgraded fuel system etc. any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The 2 vendors I have personally used have been extreme automatics and ckperformance. Both have rebuild kits as well as hardened parts for sale. I am personally running the a/e stage III(1,000 hp) and a back-up trans w/ck parts. Depending on where you live, there are other respected vendors.
E/A is located in Ohio and CK in NY. Chris offers a very good rebuild manual for the th200-4r as well.
Personally I would consider a unit already built unless you can't afford one at present. As the tools cost about as much as a rebuild if you don't already have them. With some getting more difficult to find.
