Can anyone tell me if a 700 r4 and a 200 r4 have the valve body etc in the same position?I know the 200 r4 is way stronger and has the br valve body.A friend wants to look at the 1-2 accululator in his 700 and asked me how it came apart.if it is the same as a 200 r4 I will know what to tell him.Bruce

IANATE (i am not a trans expert)
The valve body is in the same position as far as it being bolted to the bottom of the trans case - just take the pan off and it is there. The 200 4r has used many different valve bodies other than the BR code; the BR code is on the vb that came with the TR's.

I would not be surprised if the 1-2 accum is similar, I'm sure one of the trans builders will be here soon - it may help to have a reason why he wants to look at the accumulator.

Thanks for the replies. This is the reason you have to stick with a professional when getting a transmission rebuilt. My friend went with the best price for his 700.It is not even in a performance vehicle. Before the rebuild(the transmission was slipping)the shifts were firm, they are now very mushy, especially the 1-2 shift.I will always support the vendors on this list. They take the time to answer questions and give good information.Bruce

Since the trans was just rebuilt - I suggest that you do not go through the trouble of dropping the pan and inspecting the trans yourself; bring that sucka back and say this ain't right. - IMHO
