My National has the orignal trunk rug. Its pretty dirty. Tried rug cleaner. Didn't work. Has anybody ever just threw these in the washing machine? The orginals aren't that big and they would fit.

I'd be concerned about the foam rubber backing on it disintegrating in the washing machine. I went to a Jo-Ann fabrics store (yeah, I was the only guy in there) and purchased a similar looking material and used my factory one as a template. You'd have to look pretty close to tell it's not factory.

If it isn't stained and just dirty, take it in the house and vaccuum the black side and use the attatchment on the insulated side. Did that with mine and it looks brand new

If it's got a rug in the trunk (wierd in and of itself), and a dirty one at that...... move on.

There are more fish in the sea.........

OOOOOHHHHH, your car!

Sorry, take it to the self serve car wash and use the floor mat clips to hold it while you spray it off. Use the low pressure rinse setting.

just like he said make a new one. I did the samething and made my own trunk kit.

I also cleaned up the old one I had that was wore and cut it to fit behind the rear seat insulation. Gave the trunk a more finished look.

After 20+ years, I just got a new 9 piece kit which has the cardboard backing to make it stay all up around the sides n such. My T only came with the bottom carpet from the factory, so this was a nice upgrade for me:
