Actually just got done putting mine on. Recieved it pretty fast, ran it just like yours. Thanks for the help. I see you have a oil pressure sending unit, u mind telling me where you ran the ground and power to the gauge? My guage just pegs out as soon as the ignition is on!

Ok! Your gauge should have (power- ground- signal) I have an autometer gauge. Power should be hooked up to switched power, I bought a little adapter called add a circuit (available at most auto parts) it plugs in place of one of your fuses & gives u an extra circuit to run an accessory, make sure u plug it in a spot that is only activated when switch turns on. Ground in can get that almost anywhere. I'd use a test light to make sure it's a good ground, paint sometimes makes it hard to make contact. Signal is just the wire coming from the sending unit. This should be pretty much it. Of course mounting your gauge is a whole other part. I also run a oil temp gauge if u look @ the lower right side of one of the last pix. I run it inline.

ok well im guessing the gauge faulty because its hooked up right. volt metered everything and check out good. yet as soon as i turn the key the guage go past 80 right away.

Ok well the oil cooler didn't solve the problem. So what's the best way to diagnose if its a rocker arm, lifters or push rod? I know I have to take the valve cover off for the rod and arm, but is it easy to tell?

if you have slop between pushrod & rocker arm that wouln't be good. If you have a good ear try to listen which side the ticking is coming from. What is your oil pressure reading?

My gauge still doesn't work. Double check everything from the sender to the gauge. But I'm guessing the sender is bad. One other thing the ticking doesn't start until I drive for about 10min and the car warm up. Does this elimination anything or it still can be a pushrod, rocker arm or lifter? I also forgot to mention that when I took the intake off to replace it with the champion I changed the valve springs, can that do anything?
