I was trying to decide on a new Turbo for my car. So far I will be running 60 LB injectors and a CAS V4 intercooler. I was told the TE60 is a really nice peice and I was considering that. Then someone else suggested a GT6131. What are they like? Do you get any surge with them or are they very streetable?

I'm shooting for low 12's but want the car to be a turnkey. As in, get in it turn the A/C on and just drive it without any problems, have the power there when I want it.

I will also most likely be using a Terry Houston downpipe and full exhaust with a cat. (California).

turbo

My car is pretty much seen its better days. But back about 6 months ago it went high 12's @ 109. On a terrible 2.4 60 ft. Zero lbs. of boost on launch & stock converter. I run a te61 limit turbo with 50 lb injectors. Oh & the best thing I ever could have done was have the alkycontrol put in it so I didnt blow up the 300 thousand mile engine. Good luck

Hey I was running a TA-61, with a 2.4 60 , no boost ..lol 12.8 @118
Found out later the damn thing was running on 5, flat lobe :(

The 61 is a good piece, 11s easy, more than enough for your goals

TA-61 sounds like it will do the job for you, thats the turbo that I am going to go with and my goals are faster then what you said, so hey might as well try it out :D

I like my TE-61 on my unopened motor with CAS V-4. Combo in signature.

TA-61, V4, 3200 NL. My street friendly combo ;) . I'm about to add alky. This should put me solid in the 11s on pump gas and DRs.

I have a TE-60 with a stock stall. They say you need a 2800 but I can't tell. It may be just a little slower spooling from slow speeds/low rpm but from about 40 on up I don't notice a difference. I really cannot tell a difference from a torque braking launch. The stock and the TE-60 both over power my brakes at about 3# boost at around 22-2300 rpm. Of course with the TE-60 if I do mess up and break loose on the line it is harder to get traction back :) . With the mods in my sig. I went 13. 1 at 104 with bad gas, loads of spark retard and a bad tune on a warm night leaving easy with no boost. From a earlier post there are several people running mid 11's with TE-60's and similar mods.
