i could have sworn that the TTA turbo had more fins on the compressor side. . . or something.

my fathers "stock" TTA turbo compressor wheel looks different from my 87GN compressor wheel.

I have both my stock TTA and stock GN turbos sitting on the bench at home, I'll take a look tonight to verify but I'm certain they are the same.

Turbos were the same.

It's the intercooler that had the difference with fins. The TTA had the similar/same intercooler as the GNX.

No bearings, like the Ball Bearing turbo, in these turbos are just a shaft with a coat of oil flowing over it and seals on each end. Its floating in oil and that acts as its bearings.

Hi,
Yep, same turbo, unlike the GNX. TTAs run more boost, have the FWD heads and pistons, different (GNX) intercooler, and different crank(cross drilled). Of course, the chassis is superior, even with the weakening due to TTops. Also runs slightly less gear(3.27 ratio), weaker axle though.

Suspension, maybe, but the F body "chassis" is known for being super flexible, especially after it gets some miles on it. That unibody just wasn't built as stiff as the body-on-frame that the Regals use.

Where do you find a TTA with a Chassis?. :)

The GN has a chassis, and with the addition gm braces, and bushings does just fine.
Not to mention the McPherson Geometry is a nightmare on the best of days.

Not to mention that when going fast in other then a straight line, you'll wind up fighting axle tramp, with a 3rd Gen unless you go to a Herb Adams Reese Bar Rear Suspension set up.
Then you need to cut up the upper shock towers to get enough caster to try and get enough chamber gain when turning to get it to stick on other then pool table type surfaces.

I've kinda played with both.

No, that's a GNX turbo. The TTA is exactly the same wheels.

Puck hole was a little different, or the exhuast housing had a stamping on it. The TTA also had a stamping on the alternator.

Same wheels, same compressor.
