Yeah thx I have the heads & down pipe with the headers I'll get on it this week end

As stated, A/c gotta be sectioned or removed all together to fit the GN heads.
Are the heads ported?

I guess what Im getting at is, if the GN heads have a good porting and good enough tune, its gonna fly.

If your running it on pump fuel you will have to keep the boost DOWN as it will knock.. compression will be higher

Piston's (size) are different as used in the TTA to maintain the 8:1 compression ratio like the GN (so dish is .040 deeper compared to the GN pistons otherwise the same).

I am starting to look for some heads , do not care if they have correct numbers. Any one have the different models of cars they came on so I can go junking? They will be put on my spare built motor that ran mid 10's in my Limited.

I believe heads from 86-88 century or cutlass ciera with a 3.8 have the same casting number as the tta and are center bolt valve covers

Theres a vender on Ebay that sells the NOS heads for the Centuries. I bought a set a while back from him. I think I paid around 100 bucks.

what would the compression be with tta heads on a 86-87 gn short block? same question on the 84-85 gn short block i know there are custom head bolts needed for this

It's about 9:1

I know if you use diamond GN pistons and a .039 head-gasket you are at 9.1 to 1.

TTA heads are just that.. TTA specific 702 casting .. the plug / chambers are different on the TTA heads

515 castings are the FWD, so are the 248's

Where are the numbers at ? Resurrecting a old thread as i have a GN block (pistons, crank rods etc ) with real TTA heads...
