I do have turbo link. I'm a little new at the tuning in general. I do have the translator and extender chip. What are some basics on a hot air with my mods? It is a SMC kit with the nozzle they suggested for a hot air (I think it's smaller). About what pound boost for it to kick on. Will you back the fuel pressure down some when you start adding the alky?
Any advice would be great, so I can speed this process up.
thanks

I had the smc on mine. I never played with the fuel pressure at all. I turned my speed to about 7. Anymore and the motor would bog way to much. If you have the motor screaming you can turn it up even more. The system needs to be pogressive. It is either on or off. I didn't like that feature so I sold it.

i'd keep the timing at normal street gas levels(18º).tune the car as lean as it will go without detonation in 3rd gear(that's where the load is highest).you should be able to run 15-17 psi i'd say.

once you find the knock threshold set the alky to come on right before that.keep the pump speed as low as possible, you don't want to bog it.then just start turning the boost up about a pound at a time, and turn up the pump speed accordingly to keep the knock away.you will have to play with it to find the "sweet spot",basically the balance point between boost/knock/bog.

What's a good guess of when the alky should kick on, at about 12 pounds boost? The extenda chip I got from ramchargers sure seems a lot better than the Red's 93 octane I had. The extenda chip is set at 17/19 degree. I'm sure the red's was well into the 20's.
Thanks

how much boost can you run without alky?if you can run 16 psi w/o knock, set the alky to come on at 15 psi.there's no reason to kick it on any sooner.

is that chip 19º in 1st gear,17º in 2nd/3rd?i'm thinking about having steve re-burn my maxeffort like that...

Yes, It's 19 in low gear and 17 in high gear. It seems like it's going to work good with this set up. With the other I was getting knock at 1/2 throttle unless I had race fuel.
Thanks, for the advice.; I've been giving it too much too soon.

i use somewhere between 60/40 and 70/30 alky to water.the alky acts as a fuel and straight was fattening my mix up too much.i went down to 50/50 and it felt like it diluted it a little too much.so i'd try about 70/30 denatured and distilled water.
