Turbo 350 in place of 200 4r

I want to replace for now my 200 4r with a 350 that I have. I need to rebuild the 200 4r but I want to go racing. I believe that everything will go into place because the are about the same length. I am curious if I can use the same shifter and just forget about overdrive for now. I like my console and did not want to put in a different shifter. Thanks for your help.

I think everything will work fine except that you will need a different crossmember. The 200-4R uses a different crossmember than most transmissions. If you look at your frame along the driver's side, you'll see two mounting pads (they all use the same on the passenger side). I belive any G-body car without OD will have the crossmember you need.
