turbo buick block

i have a buick block that i recently purchased and i wanted some info on it, it came with a garret m 10 turbo and the casting number on the block is 25520040.

any information would be great
 
Looks like you have an 84 block...

Also, just so you know, and I hope you didn't pay an arm and a leg for that "turbo" block...All the 3.8L Buick blocks are the same with respect to whether they were built as a turbo motor or just a regular carburated motor(NA)...In other words, an 84 "turbo" block is the same as an 84 "NA" block...An 87 "turbo" block is the same as an 87 "NA" block, etc and so on...

There was no difference in the composition of the blocks, ie, higher nickel content in turbo blocks...That is an old wive's tale, and completely false...

Only on the 86/7 3.8L 25526109 blocks are there a difference, and that is just that there is one extra drilled and tapped hole on the front of the blocks that are used for turbo motors, which is the turbo oil drainback hole, which the NA motors don't need...

Other than that, there is no difference in the same year "turbo" to "NA" blocks...
