Just tiptoed outside this am to pick up my WSJ subscription..

Leafing through, I hit the Marketplace section. Cover story on "Medicare's Drug Overhaul".

On that page is a drawing (artist Jon Krause) of a man leaning over a 3-D red cross, with 'the hood up', hence the tie in with overhaul.

In the cross' 'engine bay'..I look once, then twice, I'll be darned..its a turbo buick motor! Customized too! Black maf and up pipe, valve covers, turbo shield. And its had the powermaster replaced with a vacuum unit! ha!

Check it out! WSJ July 11, Page B1.

ps I wonder if Jon Krause owns a turbo buick?

I just picked up my copy, right there on the front of the "Marketplace" section.

The motor looks nice, I have always wanted those valve covers...

Does anyone know the artist? Jon Krause? Maybe he is one of the loyal...

I'm going to bring the paper home tonight, but I dont have a scanner :(

Well I'll be danged! I went out and swiped the copy laying out in front of the building and sure enough! Who'd of thought!

Does this happen to be on their website?? I have a hard time finding the wall street journal here unless I go to the airport or train station.

Thanks

Will need someone with a WSJ-Online account to find out. I was surprised to find that I needed to pay an *additional* $39 to access the WSJ online (after I already paid $200 for a print subscription). Sheesh!

I looked on their website, it looks like you have to sign up and pay for it

I emailed the artist and asked him if he owned a TR and got this reply:

"hi mark

actually i was just looking for a cool engine to help me solve that
particular illustration, and it fit. glad you enjoyed it

-jon"

Pretty cool that he replied though

Maybe he will include more Buick motor pics in his future artwork.

Pretty cool.
